Singapore officially outlaws Cyber Flashing

New Year, New Laws. As of 1st January 2020, technology-based sexual offences have been criminalised in Singapore under the Penal Code.

In May, the Singaporean Parliament passed the changes under the Criminal Law Reform Bill in order to keep laws relevant and up to date with the changed in technology.

This "long-awaited" update saw the introduction of new sexual offences in order to criminalise the "making, distribution, possession of and access to voyeuristic recordings and intimate images, as well as the distribution of such images without consent." Those found guilty could face up to 2 years in jail.
